Once again this year, the Olomouc Information Center is inviting visitors to an interesting program it has organized to mark the seventh annual nationwide event, “Tourist Information Center Week.” The event will take place from October 24 to 31. Special Halloween-themed guided tours will be available for locals and tourists alike on Saturday, October 31.
The Olomouc Information Center has organized special guided Halloween walks for children and adults on Saturday, October 31. You can take your children on a tour of Olomouc at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Along with the guide, the children will be accompanied by Eda, a stuffed cat. During the 50-minute tour, children will learn interesting facts about the history of Olomouc and become familiar with the city’s most famous house marks. A small gift will also be waiting for those who come in costume.
A guided Halloween tour for adults is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. It will take you through the city center and its immediate surroundings. With your guide, you’ll stop at sites connected to Olomouc’s executioner and his trade. You’ll discover where Olomouc’s Záhrobí was located, who haunts Blažejské Square and why, where Olomouc’s townspeople deliberately went after dark, and which places they preferred to avoid.
All tours are free, but reservations are required at vstupenky.olomouc.eu.
Tourist Information Center Week is organized by the Association of Tourist Information Centers of the Czech Republic (A.T.I.C. ČR) in cooperation with certified tourist information centers. Its goal is to commemorate World Information Development Day, which was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1972 and is observed annually on October 24. This year marks the seventh edition of Tourism Information Center Week, which runs from Saturday, October 24, through Saturday, October 31. More than 230 information centers will participate.
