Euro banknote with Olomoucké Tvarůžky Cheese motif

Olomouc Tvarůžky Cheese, produced in nearby Loštice, are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year. This fragrant milestone is also commemorated by a new collector’s euro banknote, which the company A.W. Olomoucké Tvarůžky had produced in a limited edition of 3,000 pieces. Starting Monday, April 13, 2026, 1,000 of these commemorative euro banknotes will be available for purchase at the Olomouc Information Center in the town hall arcade for 100 CZK. The commemorative euro banknote features Alois Wessels, who built the largest Tvarůžky cheese factory of its time in Loštice in the early 20th century. The banknote will also be available at the ninth annual Olomouc Tvarůžky Cheese Festival on the weekend of April 18–29.

This is already the third collector’s euro banknote featuring Olomouc. The very first one was issued in 2024 with a print run of 3,000 pieces and sold out within a year. In 2025, a second banknote featuring the Holy Trinity Column was issued in a print run of 5,000 copies, commemorating the 25th anniversary of this Olomouc landmark’s inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The banknote featuring the Holy Trinity Column is still available for purchase at the Olomouc Information Center for 100 CZK.
