A fair with traditional Easter decorations, handicrafts and good food and drink. There are also concerts, tours of the Town Hall Tower and the Comenius Hall and the richly decorated Upper Square. You can enjoy all this in Olomouc during Easter. We will celebrate it in the city centre from Friday 11 to Monday 21 April.
The traditional Easter fair in the city centre will offer thirty stalls where you will be able to buy hand-painted Easter eggs, porcelain, wood products and, of course, spring and Easter decorations. There will also be refreshment stands and children will have fun in the workshop where they can make Easter boxes, brooches, wicker wreaths and other spring decorations.
The celebration of spring in the centre of Olomouc is traditionally enlivened by a cultural programme. You can look forward to folklore groups, dulcimer music and rock tunes, and on Easter Sunday, an open-air church service.
Tours of the Town Hall Tower and the Komenium Ceremonial Hall
On the weekend before Easter Monday, the Olomouc Information Centre has prepared tours of the Town Hall Tower and the Komenium Ceremonial Hall. On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April, at 11 am and 3 pm, visitors will be able to climb the 75-metre high tower and see the city at their fingertips. The price of the tour is 50 CZK. Tours of the Comenius Hall are scheduled for the same days at 2 pm. The price of the tours is 80 CZK.
Schools and kindergartens will help decorate the square
The popular wicker egg-shaped photo point in front of the Town Hall will be complemented this year by a new Easter installation in the lawn. The stalls at the fair will also be decorated with colourful butterflies. As every year, you will be able to admire the Easter decorations made by children from local kindergartens and primary schools in front of the town hall, and the square will also be decorated with one-metre high Easter eggs by primary and secondary school students.
