Basic information
The nature reserve Velký Kosíř lies in the southeast tip of Bouzov Highlands (Bouzovská vrchovina). Its pride is the silhouette of the hill Velký Kosíř; at 442 meters above sea level it is the highest peak of the Haná region. The harmonious landscape of this park is covered by forests. You will also notice significant escarpments.
The southern part of the hill Velký Kosíř is covered by dwarf oak trees and xerophilous vegetation in some places. Devonian limestones can be found on the eastern and southeastern edge of the area. The natural vegetation of the park was originally thermophilous oak forest, over which, however, spruces and pines have prevailed.
The entire area is botanically very valuable. Several important protected locations have been declared here. A Nature trail, accessible by foot or by bike, goes through the area.
