Basic information
Sluňákov is a community benefit society offering experiences and knowledge that develop a respectful relationship between people and nature and themselves.
Sluňákov was founded and developed mainly thanks to the support of the Statutory City of Olomouc since 1992. Today it offers its activities for schools, teachers, families with children and other general public in a modern low-energy house (2007) on the edge of the protected landscape area Litovelské Pomoraví in Horka nad Moravou. The house is surrounded by a unique natural art gallery called the Litovelské Pomoraví Nature House (2014), where visitors and program participants can have extraordinary experiences with the floodplain landscape.
The low-energy house was built in 2007 on a green meadow. In the same year it won the Grand Prix of Architects. It is shaped like a crescent and is surrounded on one side by an earthen mound so as to disturb the surrounding nature as little as possible. It is made of wood, concrete, glass, stone and unfired bricks. The building design of the house mainly uses the principles of solar architecture, large thicknesses of thermal insulation and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.
The house is open to all visitors not only during the opening hours of the information centre.
The premises can be used for celebrations, weddings or corporate events. The hall has a capacity of 80 people, if connected to the dining room, the capacity increases to 110 people. In addition to the hall, it is possible to use two smaller seminar rooms with a capacity of 25 people.
Accommodation has a capacity of 40 beds mostly in double rooms with the possibility of an extra bed.
We also offer complete banquets and cofeebreaks to your specifications.
