Basic information
Mladeč cave, discovered in 1926, is located near the nature reserve Litovelské Pomoraví. The complex labyrinth of fracture passages and chambers has arisen in the limestone hill Třesín. The underground spaces are richly decorated with cave formations and flowstones. Among the most beautiful parts are the so-called Temple of Nature and the Virgin cave. The cave has been known since ancient times and is considered a very important paleontological and archaeological site. Bones of extinct Pleistocene vertebrates as well as many remains of early modern humans of the Paleolithic Age with rich evidence of their activities (stone tools, fireplaces) have been found here.
