Basic information

There is an amphitheatre with a covered stage and a stepped covered auditorium, used mainly for special outing programmes for children from primary and kindergarten schools, which take place in May and June.

The stage mainly displays replica weapons and torture instruments of the medieval period, as well as helmets, knights’ armour, coats of arms, weathervanes and other interesting items. There are also theatre and fencing performances as part of excursion programmes.

The dominant feature of the complex is the 15-metre high, 16-metre long and weighing about 40 tonnes, the largest wooden structure of the “Trojan Horse” in the world with publicly accessible interior spaces. The building is also unique in terms of construction, it was designed by a shipbuilder and so, for example, the hull of the horse is built as an inverted ship keel and is used as a picture gallery. The TK serves not only as an interesting lookout, where 52 steps take you up to the horse’s head to the lookout, but in terms of war machines it represents a group of shelters. The shields on the sides of the hull, each about half a tonne in weight, are an interesting feature, as well as being decorative and providing large unique shutters.
