Basic information
The Theatre Tramtarie is an independent theater, which aims to support and develop the cultural environment in Olomouc and the Olomouc region. It achieves this through its own artistic activities and through cooperation with similarly oriented organizations and theatres in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The Theatre Tramtarie has its own semi-professional ensemble, which consists of graduates of art schools and enthusiastic amateurs from among the Olomouc students. It is focusing on auteur dramaturgy, contemporary playwriters or modern versions of classic plays. Fairy tales for parents and children are an important part of the repertoire. Apart from its own programme, the theatre Tramtarie organizes music events and provides space for exhibitions of young artists and guest theater groups from the Czech Republic and abroad. The theatre activities create a cultural and social space for Olomouc university and high school students as well as for the broad public.
The Tramtarie Theatre is operated with financial support from the Statutory City of Olomouc, the Olomouc Region and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
