Craft fair, concerts, tours of the town hall and an open-air church service. These are the highlights of this year’s Easter in Olomouc. It starts on Friday 22 March and will last until Easter Monday 1 April.
The Easter Fair on Horní náměstí promises more than two dozen stalls in which local producers will offer hand-painted Easter eggs, porcelain, wood and wicker products. You can also look forward to regional refreshments and Olomouc grill. Children will love to ride the carousel and have fun in the children’s workshop, where they can make traditional and less typical Easter decorations. You can come and shop at the Olomouc Easter Fair from Friday 22 March to Monday 1 April, daily from 11am.
The celebration of the Spring Festival in the centre of Olomouc will also be accompanied by a cultural programme on stage. You can look forward to a concert by the Olomouc rock band Isbina or the Slovak worship band Timothy. On Friday, 29 March, at 5 pm, the band Fleret will make Olomouc’s Horní náměstí ring with their songs, and on Easter Sunday at 3 pm there will even be an open-air service.
Also this year, Olomouc will be full of thematic Easter decorations, which will also serve as an original photo point. In the city centre you can take a photo in a spring decorated wicker egg and at St. Wenceslas Cathedral in front of a giant two-metre high Easter egg.

Olomouc as in the palm of your hand
During the Easter holidays, the Olomouc Information Centre has prepared special guided tours of the town hall for those interested, in addition to the traditional ascents of the town hall tower. These will introduce visitors to the history of the city and this important Olomouc building and will also take them to the ceremonial hall or the Chapel of St. Jerome. The guided tours of the town hall include, of course, a climb up the 75-metre high town hall tower, which offers a beautiful view of the town and its surroundings. Guided tours of the Town Hall take place from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 March at 1 pm.
