This year, the Olomouc Information Center is once again inviting visitors to an interesting program prepared for the sixth annual nationwide Tourist Information Center Week. The event will take place from October 24 to 31. Visitors will have the opportunity to climb the tower of the Olomouc City Hall free of charge or take a guided tour of the Komenium ceremonial hall. Throughout the week, visitors to the information center in the town hall arcade will also be able to spin the wheel of fortune for symbolic prizes.
Those interested will be able to climb the 75-meter-high tower of the Olomouc Town Hall on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., as well as on Tuesday, October 28, at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Komenium fresco hall will be open to visitors with a guide on the weekend of October 25 and 26, at 2 p.m. each day. “All tours during Tourist Information Center Week are free of charge and no reservation is required. Just show up at the information center in the town hall arcade a few minutes before the tour,” said Jitka Lučanová from the Olomouc information center, adding that throughout the week, visitors to the information center on Horní náměstí will also have the opportunity to spin the wheel of fortune for a nice prize.
Tourist Information Center Week is organized by the Association of Tourist Information Centers of the Czech Republic (A.T.I.C. ČR) in cooperation with certified tourist information centers. Its aim is to commemorate World Information Development Day, which was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1972 and falls annually on October 24. This year, Tourist Information Center Week is being held for the sixth time and runs from Friday, October 24 to Friday, October 30. More than 220 information centers will participate.
