On Friday 28 April 2023, Plavby Olomouc will start its 9th season. After five long years, they are returning to the very centre of the city, to the newly built embankment.
“The pause of several years caused by the reconstruction of the embankment connected with the construction of flood protection measures and the preparation of the embankment was long. That is why we are looking forward to returning to the place where it all began. We will again be closer to the people who, I believe, are happy to use all our services,” said the owner of Plaveb Olomouc, Šimon Pelikán.
The boarding point will be located directly on the embankment, between the Masaryk and Bristol bridges. “It will eventually include a small background with refreshments and an info point of Plaveb Olomouc. We are waiting for the end of May, when the section will be cleared,” adds Šimon Pelikán.
In June, the cultural programme that has taken place on the waterfront in previous years as part of Plaveb Olomouc will be continued with smaller concerts, screenings, sports activities, a children’s programme and more. Of course, the annual festival “The River Has a Soul” will not be missing. The aim is to offer visitors to the waterfront different ways of spending their free time in Olomouc. The revitalisation of the public space will be carried out in accordance with the rules of the embankment, observance of the night calm, respect for nature and also other users of the river such as rowers and canoeists.
Apart from the boat trips, interested parties will still be able to use the OLOŠLAPS, the services will be connected by a new station on the embankment and will allow tourists/visitors to easily move, for example, to Olodvorek, which is located in the historical centre, away from the river.
In addition to public cruises, the service continues to offer private cruises, school trips, facilities for corporate events, stag and hen parties and celebrations.
