A green oasis in the middle of the city. The scent of thousands of roses, relaxation with coffee, meeting with friends and fun for children. You will find all this in the Olomouc Rosarium, which is the second largest rose garden in the Czech Republic and boasts several awards.
The Olomouc Rosarium is part of the botanical garden in Bezručovy sady and especially in hot summer it is a great place to cool down. You can sit here with a coffee or a drink and you can also enjoy the summer comfort on a deck chair by the water. The Rosarium is also a great place for children. There are swings and other fun play elements, ponds and plenty of space to run, jump and play all sorts of games.
And if you like to enjoy breakfast in the grass or a picnic, then the Olomouc Rosarium is the ideal place. Here you will find a picnic meadow, wooden grates for sitting and stylish canopies to protect you from the sun. In addition, you can also book a self-service barbecue and enjoy a summer barbecue with friends in beautiful surroundings with a view of the towers of St. Wenceslas Cathedral or St. Michael’s Church.
The Olomouc Rozarium is open from March to November and it is not just any park. Its 3.5 hectares and 4,500 rose bushes make it the second largest rose garden in the Czech Republic. Since 2023 it has carried the official designation of National Plant Collection and this year it even won the prestigious Award of Garden Excellence. Every year at the beginning of June, you can enjoy a flood of flowers and scents in the Rosarium, as well as a rich accompanying programme for all generations at the Vyznání růžím event.
