Olomouc Museum Night invites you to museums and galleries

Every year, Olomouc Museum Night opens the doors of interesting cultural institutions in the late hours and allows you to see the collections of galleries and museums in an unmistakable evening atmosphere. This is often for free or at a discounted admission price. Many venues also offer accompanying programmes and guided tours on this day.

There is something for everyone in the busy programme of the Olomouc Museum Night. In addition to the Olomouc galleries and museums, faculties of Palacký University and departments of the University Hospital will also take part. In the afternoon, guided tours of the Andro Stadium will take place and a great experience is promised, for example, by an evening visit to the collection greenhouses of the Flora Olomouc Exhibition Centre. The Central Park Flora Hotel will open its terrace to the public and the Hotel House will even open its roof to the public, giving visitors a unique opportunity to experience Olomouc in the evening.

Among the permanent points of the programme, there is also one novelty this year. This is the opening of the SOMA Centre for Contemporary Art and Psychotherapy on the premises of the Olomouc University Hospital. It will be open free of charge from 6 to 9 pm and inside it, visitors will be able to see an artistic intervention called Konstantin Zorkin’s Protective Layer.

During the Olomouc Museum Night, the Republic Square will also come alive. It is going to be opened here. From 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., music will be played by Sugar and Spice Holding Company, Daniel Režný, Lukáš Mareček and Terez Wrau. There will be a relaxation zone, refreshment stands and the organisers are preparing a light installation on the surrounding buildings.

The Olomouc Museum Night is part of the Festival of Museum Nights, which is being held throughout the Czech Republic for the twenty-first time this year. The Olomouc museums, galleries and other institutions have been joining in with their programmes regularly since 2014 and each year the event gains more enthusiastic fans of all generations.
