After two years, the biggest flower festival – the spring Flora – returns to the Flora Exhibition Centre. From today until Sunday 24 April you have the opportunity to visit the famous floral and horticultural exhibition Flora Olomouc, this time with the subtitle Flowers and Worlds. In addition to the main exhibition in Hall A or the presentation of the Czech Horticultural Association, the rich programme also includes a unique exhibition of rare hundred-year-old bonsai and the popular horticultural market. It will be well worth it. The main theme expressed in the visual of the exhibition, which will be portrayed in the main display, is the cycle of life. Specifically, a plant from its birth to flowering to death. The demonstrations of our leading florists will also be in line with this theme,” said Eva Fuglíčková, Director of the Flora Olomouc Exhibition Centre. This year, its design is the responsibility of respected architects from the Olomouc-based architecture and design studio mimokolektiv together with the well-known florist Tamás Vígh.
In Hall A, visitors can also look forward to a special evening tour of the main exhibition. Thanks to the varied programme, it will be an exclusive experience. It will take place on Friday 22 April. It will be dedicated to a cross-section of ČZS activities with a view to the years to come. Under the title Tradition with Imagination, a unique collection of yew bonsai ranging in age from 100 to 600 years will be on display thanks to the collaboration with Bonsaimuseum Isabelia.
“Mr Valuch’s collection is unparalleled in Europe in terms of the number and age of individual bonsai,” said Eva Fuglíčková, director of the Flora Olomouc Exhibition Centre. The exhibition of photographs will be complemented by floral decorations by the award-winning florist Klára Franc Vavříková.
Refreshments will be available in the gastrozones or in the café in Hall A. The outdoor area, along with Hall G, will be home to large and well-attended horticultural markets. In addition to a wide range of plants, gardening supplies, tools for DIY and equipment for beekeepers will also be available for sale.
Pavilion H will be dedicated this spring to a presentation by members of the Association of Private Agriculture of the Czech Republic called Return to Roots.
Last but not least, visitors can look forward to a varied supporting programme, which includes workshops, musical performances on the stage in the outdoor Samba area, activities for children and relaxation zones, among other things.
