At the beginning of September, Olomouc was once again lit up by the European Heritage Days. There was something for everyone in the varied programme. We enjoyed concerts, theatre, exhibitions, a fair and above all dozens of open sights and other interesting places. Among the novelties in the programme was, for example, a tour of the Petráš Palace in Horní náměstí or the opening of the Convent Garden of the Monastery Castle.
From Monday 2 to Thursday 5 September, the Lower Square was alive with concerts, and thanks to themed guided tours throughout the week we had the opportunity to get to know Olomouc and its history a little closer. The highlight of Olomouc’s European Heritage Days was Friday’s open air performance of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc’s Manon Lescaut with songs by local native Karel Plíhal. The illuminated Arion’s Fountain and the Town Hall building were the icing on the cake of the whole festive evening.
The weekend programme on the square was complemented this year by the Austrian Day, which marked the culmination of the Austrian season in Olomouc. We could taste traditional Tyrolean specialties, wine and beer. A walk through the square was made more pleasant by Mozart’s music workshop and we danced during a Viennese waltz workshop.

Next year we will meet again in September, this time during the week of 8-14 September 2025.
