Olomouc was awarded first prize in the competition for the Golden Coat of Arms. This competition awards web pages and electronic services of cities and communities. Beginning in the middle of June tourists can enjoy a tourist train ride through the centre of Olomouc. The small train runs through the historical centre to the Collection Conservatories in Smetana Gardens, one of the city parks. Riders can either disembark at the Collection Conservatories and take in the exhibits or continue on the train back to the Upper Square.

The City of Olomouc has chosen new parking locations for buses bringing tourists to visit Olomouc from all corners of Europe. Establishing new parking lots was necessary due to the significant restriction of spots for buses at the "u Husova sboru" location near the centre of the city.
